I suppose today's Bloomberg article could answer the speculation about what might be revealed on the 27th. The question is, how accurate is the article? Based on the title of this topic "TRUTH does not mind being questioned LIE does not like being challenged" I am a bit skeptical of the article's contents. Jason Schreier wrote the article and he has been known in the past to lash out/block people who question or disbelieve his statements which fits with the second part of the topic's title. I don't know if Schreier would intentionally make something up like this which leads to the possibility that he was fed false or partially false information by someone inside R*. As for what motive R* would have for doing something like that which could damage Schreier's reputation, maybe it's revenge for his expose on their crunch culture combined with an elaborate marketing ploy to make the game more of a surprise when it is officially revealed. With that said some of the article does match trends seen in the original P Files from 2020. A lot of those videos were related to women which fits with the article's mention of one of the protagonists being female, while other videos suggested a possible Florida setting which the article also corroborates. On the other hand a lot of those viddles had 80s references in them as well which could be seen to suggest the game has a past setting, which doesn't match what Schreier has said. I'm also not sure if the Preacher has ever hinted much at the game being expanded over time similar to games as a service like the article says. The Truth will be revealed eventually but it is interesting to think about. I think the "Rockstar July 2022 wtf" factor Preacher was hinting months ago was also the Bloomberg article, and July 27th teased by SBB. As you said before, the Lie does not like being challeneged was likely alluding to Jason Schreier. If I recall correctly, Jason has blocked the Preacher. Perhaps this Preacher was "challenging" the "Lie" (Jason's claims about GTA 6 back in 2021). Preacher also said back in 2020 he was looking forward to Jason becoming a Press Officer for Rockstar Games (see tweet couples posts above). It could be possible as you said that Jason has received some misinformation from R* for an unknown motive or some marketing ploy. As for your protagonist speculation, Preacher has vaguely said the protagonist will be "one dimensional" and "a bit of a dickheid" (https://gtaforums.com/topic/934847-gta-vi-protagonist-speculation/page/3/#comment-1071075647). They haven't speficially states the gender, but I assume it is a Male one. Some of the cases had female-centric themes or names such as the "man I feel like a woman" one:
Some speculated awhile ago they could be related to a female protagonist, but they could also mean something else as well. It was something that seemed like it could be possible, especially if there ends up being two protagonists. |

Yea.. I can't imagine it would have taken JS 7 months to write the article either.
I'm sure there's follow up involved and it would take some time to conduct interviews, but I'd imagine Bloomberg wants content turned around a lot quicker than that.
A lot of what he said may have been knowledge ( and I use that term loosely because we just don't & won't know for sure without R*'s confirmation) he had obtained previously. Hasn't he written about exactly this already but with less detail in regard to the GTA VI rumors?

Jason's article uses the words "People Familiar with the Project"...Seems like a fallback in case his information ends up being wrong. And I wrote this on twitter "In all seriousness i think anybody from R* talking to Jason would be vague at best...The article seems to leave more questions than answers" Just because it's Jason Schreier it doesn't mean people just break NDA's, unless Jennifer Kolbe or one of the higher ups Spoon Fed this information on purpose. |

My one guess is the announcement was supposed to happen in July or very soon -> Schreier heard about it and timed the release of the article just before to use the info before its not exclusive like Kotaku did before V was announced
the DLC was apparently delayed a week, so maybe something next week ("the tropical storm")

I think SBB is taking the shot at Jason perhaps the article has Rockstar's propaganda all over it (a way to show their improvement of working conditions). In other words, it was written by Rockstar, and not really the jorunalist Jason Schreier. It wasn't the Jason that would usually be writing about other game companies. This Bloomberg article isn't the "real journalism" Jason would write. It's controlled by Rockstar. That's what I'm getting at from this tweet. |
