"Lucas Hamming - Wood for the Trees" is a music video type of viddle. Many music video TRUTH's have been revealed with the help of collective and persistent research... Navigating through TLFS case archive sister Evel posted above should help you understand how we generally begin ALL investigations. The lyrics, song, album, band, band members, etc. may be the key to unlocking the truth so a full understanding of how and why this particular song and music video came to be are just as important as the content of the song itself.

Giving my input for the night...
First, I searched the wiki about Lucas Hamming. There was a wiki that only showed his biography in Dutch (I translated from Dutch to English, but info about him is minimal). There are other sites, but that also went into a dead end. Then, I analyzed the lyrics. The lyrics that stood out to me was: - If it's you I'm lying to see - Then I can see the woods for the trees - I can't see the wood for the trees - Cause I can't see the wood for the trees - I should focus more on things I really need
I decided to search up the meaning of the phrase: "Can't see the woods for the trees" Definition: "To not understand or appreciate a larger situation, problem, etc., because one is considering only a few parts of it." [Definition from Merriam-Webster]I have a strong belief that trees are a big focus, so I decided to look up for tree-related things in RDR2. The most common results were: - Tree Hermit- Poor Joe
I believe Poor Joe has some sort of relation to this case. Reason(s):- Poor Joe is happy with the trees. - Tells that nobody understands him, wants to be alone (Proceeds to throw rocks at the player, telling them to leave). - John questions Poor Joe about paying homage. Poor Joe realizes that he doesn't know what he actually wants even though he's been "king" for years. However, I'm still not sure if this is a strong connection.

We can say about Joe that he "can't see the wood for the trees", he can't understand the situation of the world and only cares about the trees that surround him.
