Well, it appears that the hyped upgraded version of GTA V & Online is lacking from what has been shown so far. They've also delayed it several months to March of 2022 which seems odd since the game doesn't appear to be vastly different than it already is. It's possible that there's a lot of background fixes/features that haven't been shown yet but I think at this point more of those would have been revealed if they were there. It seems like Rockstar is going to take close to two years to release a slightly upgraded PC version of GTA V for the next generation consoles which I thought would be the worst case scenario but is looking to be reality now.
On a more entertaining note some of the same moderators on GTA Forums that were saying Rockstar wouldn't take this long to reveal the upcoming version if it was a simple port are now telling people they shouldn't have gotten their expectations up. I remember a lot of people treating it as fact that the game would run on RDR2's version of RAGE but that doesn't seem to be the case now unfortunately. Maybe this new version will end up being more than a simple port but that doesn't seem very likely anymore.
My optimistic side is telling me that the reason the new version of GTA V isn't that impressive so far is because they are putting all of their effort into new projects such as GTA VI. On the other end my pessimistic side is now more concerned about the quality of GTA VI.
I wonder if this next-gen GTA V news is somehow related to the Preacher's recent hiatus?

This is coming from a layman: I can't understand why a simple port would take that long to be released. If it will be packed with extra features, then why it wasn't properly announced? "Seamless transitions"? I wasn't expecting anything major today, but a delay was out of the picture for me.
I'm not yet concerned about the quality of VI. I just hope it comes at a time when my grandkids will still be interested in gaming. (Just kidding, I'm not THAT old.)

It definitely is disappointing that they didn't show off any of the new features they are talking about. Each Newswire they have published regarding the game usually mentions improved graphics, gameplay, features and "much much more".
I think there's a slight possibility that the version they showed off yesterday is an older build or just straight up the pc version. Maybe it is being ported to the RDR2 engine and the version will look much better. I can't see any other reason for them to delay it 4 months, there's got to be something huge they have yet to reveal.... Right?

very BAD. The E&E Version is only a time filler and was not that planned, thats what i think since the announcement last Year, they have something different thats the main focus from the devs. You dont need more than a few people for the E&E Version if its only a few upgrades, no new Props, no new Missions, no new Sound, No new Mo-Cap etc... I cant believe they delayed it, which means there is more to come and its not ready to show? What i find interesting are the Yellow Plates, like R' took a text marker and marked it to put our focus on it, pbs.twimg.com/media/E-31s4TXsAQIE4n.png61SAL890
and this "All lines from the new E&E Trailer, I think R* might be telling us something here: "You're not making my situation any easier. I knew it would become about you. [GTA V logo in the background] "what? enough!" "ahh" *Train is heading head first into the water, derailing* "Let's go come on" "I gotta run now, ok" "Alright bye babe." "It's lonely up here" "Come on man speed up" "Get us out of here" "I think we're going to literally make out like bandits on this" *scene of two Deluxos griefing a helicopter and destroying a jet*

I can't understand why a simple port would take that long to be released. I think its pretty much done but they want the most possible people to get the free version of GTA Online free for the first three months as possible therefore the delay. Also, maybe this is wishful thinking but they might want to push the Trilogy out first before the holiday because it would be on both Old Gen and Current Gen hardware to maximize Sales. HOPEFULLY we will know soon enough!

6 is at late 90s? Intro of the trailer also kind of sound like the Vice City theme, but that just my opinion.

The announcement made On May 18th which specified a November 11th Release Date. So your telling me a studio as large and experienced as R* doesn't know 4 to 6 months before the release that the Project is delayed and to note they reiterated November 11th Date in the July Tuners update. They just wanna get GTAO into hands to as many PS5 owners on launch when more supply becomes available.
BTW Why would they make GTA V look too good, people would just be Underwhelmed when the next iteration of GTA comes out.

I certainly hope this is what is going on and this isn't a sign of bad things going on at Rockstar, but it is easy to be skeptical now.
They originally announced E&E when people were expecting GTA VI news and it's trailer was an underwhelming collection of ps3 and ps4 era footage that had already been seen, which was definitely not well received. Over a year later close to when E&E was finally supposed to launch they announce a 6 month delay and show a new trailer that reveals E&E to seem like just the PC version with better shadows and particle effects which was also underwhelming and begs the question of what they're delaying it for.
One thing I find concerning is that they've stopped referring to it as "expanded and enhanced" now and just as the next version of the game. That makes it sound like there might not actually be much new about this version of the game, although I still hope there is.
As for the yellow license plates I suspect that was either the lighting or a graphical bug, I don't see why they would randomly change the plates to be yellow when they've been white for so long and the real plates they are based on are also white. Maybe it's part of a veiled VI hint like some think the text is. If the text refers to VI being set in the past maybe the yellow is a hint that Liberty City is also involved, as old New York license plates were yellow?

BTW Why would they make GTA V look too good, people would just be Underwhelmed when the next iteration of GTA comes out. I was thinking they could do a sort of in between - maybe they make it look as good or better than RDR2. This might be a bit of tin foil hat theory but I believe E&E could be part of a large plan to integrate multiple cities into GTAO tieing into GTA VI. Firstly, they would remaster V with better graphics, and make some smaller changs to make it "current day" as opposed to being set in 2012 (for GTAO). Then maybe add another city to GTAO (either on E&E release date, or later as a DLC) and then eventually have GTA VI's map integrated into GTAO alongside LS and the other new city. Perhaps VI will also include either LS or the new city as part of its story, similar to GTA SA where parts of the story were spread between different cities, but that might be a stretch, especially if it doesn't fit into the story well. Maybe Cayo Perico was testing for adding extra land space into the map?

What they showed yesterday must be one year old or so footage, there's absolutely no way, that they were working on it for one year.

What's also interesting about the trailer is that the license plate on the Red Ocelot F620 is different compared to the actual game (The numbers on the plates are randomly generated for each gameplay I saw).
The car also appeared in the Epsilon Program in Blue:

I said it already on gtaforums and I will say it here, I think, that Rockstar Games is indeed porting GTA V to RDRII's version of RAGE but they simply underestimated scale of this project. Additional pieces will come later (third trailer?).

Additional pieces will come later (third trailer?). so do you think the "Real" Game will look completly different then the current Trailers and will be on rdr2 Level? The game is not running thats why they used the "PC-Version" with modified Sun, Time etc.? Often Companys write - Game does not represent Final look - on there Trailer, but for me it looks R* is serious with this Sh*t, content wise they can surprise us (New map, expansions etc) But i think the graphic level will stay (They need the wow effect for gta next?)

I said, that I think, that it will run on RDRII engine, not that it will look like RDRII. And yes, I think, that new content will be showed later. It seems, that so far they are focused on making the base game running smoothly and even that doesn't go well so far (lighting bugs, glitches, missing props, draw distance issues). edit I know, that it's easy to shit on R* but it seems, that people are literally blind It doesn't sound like anyone will have to pay full price for this or pay for it at all.
